Studio Time

I know it’s been a while. I’ve not really gone anywhere. Every time I do a “featured” show, I end up spending quite some time rethinking things. This time I realized that I needed to re-capture a few things from my past… drawing, cartooning… so on and so forth. I want to do things with a bit more control from the outset rather than relying so heavily on automatism. So… I’ve spent the past several months sitting on the couch and working in my sketchbook.

I do have stacks of finished and unfinished drawings all over the place now and something of an idea as to where I want to take things from here. That will likely manifest itself here in due course.

I do have a show at the David Strawn Art Gallery in Jacksonville, Illinois, coming up next month. Again, this will be with Mario Clarke and his glasswork as well as with Danny Brikshavana, who does ceramics. The opening is from 6-8 p.m. on November 2nd. If you get the urge… stop by.
